Scenario 4: Multi-Site - With PBX

In this configuration an office with an existing PBX can seamlessly integrate VoIP with their existing technology. This approach preserves their investment and provides a smooth upgrade path, while leveraging the cost savings of VoIP telephony.

The FXS gateway provides FXS ports to the PBX which look like normal analogue lines. Calls made via the PBX can be routed through POTS or via the Keyfonics gateway to benefit from our low call rates. This change is completely transparent to PBX users who can continue to use their telephones in the usual way.

Branch offices and home workers can call the PBX for free via the Keyfonics gateway.

Organisations adopting this configuration would typically consolidate their voice and data traffic through bonded ADSL, SDSL or E-carrier lines. This configuration provides easy scalability to add new extensions; redundancy should a given ISP go down; QoS routing of voice traffic; and load balancing across links.
